About

The London School of Continental Philosophy offers philosophy courses in London, taught in person through evening seminars. The School provides a public space for discussion, reading and sustained engagement with philosophical texts and contemporary ideas that define 21st century life.

The School is committed to widening access to philosophy at a moment when advanced study is increasingly confined within shrinking universities and rising tuition fees. It seeks to make serious intellectual work publicly available, creating pathways into complex thought for those who may not have institutional affiliation but share a commitment to sustained inquiry.

Founded by Dr. Daniel Weizman (PhD, Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy), the School is supported by trustees working across higher education, philosophy, and the arts. It is based on the view that contemporary philosophy should remain a public practice, and that philosophical work belongs in shared settings of inquiry rather than within closed institutional boundaries.

Evening courses are held in Central London and focus on close reading and open discussion. They are designed to support both first-time readers of philosophy and those with prior experience. Each course connects philosophical problems to wider questions in culture, history, art, and technology, showing how theory can illuminate contemporary life.

Alongside its teaching programme, the School plans to develop public talks and events, and in time a journal dedicated to contemporary philosophical and critical writing.
